Inside the Walled Garden Applecross

                           Old Ruin, Fearnmore - Applecross Peninsula

During our recent visit to the Applecross Peninsula we came across this

fabulous example of an old west highland cottage on what was a perfect day,

the lighting conditions showed the buildings former glory and sad decline.

There are many buildings throughout Scotland in this sad state of decay but they show how the way of life in Scotland has evolved and continues to evolve. There are many Croft's that successfully adapt to our modern living even in remote areas such as Applecross. Of course these old ruins are fantastic wildlife habitats. !
